Ruckus Foods began with a simple idea… How can a Rock Band make more money? (or any money really)

Our Sauce Master, Alan Charlebois, began brainstorming ways for his three-piece hard rock band, Vultures Playing Ruckus, to make more money in order to finance albums, go on tour, and get rich and famous. You might already know this, but there isn’t a whole lot of money being thrown at rock bands today. Not like it was back in the BS (before streaming) times. Most opportunities involve laboriously loading hundreds of pounds of gear into a van, driving long distances, attempting to put on the performance of a lifetime, and then loading the aforementioned gear back into the van, and then back into the jam space, all for a couple hundred bucks. This is why bands have MERCH! But they all have the same arrangement of shirts, CDs (these are things kids used to use to listen to music..), stickers, buttons, etc, so VPR decided to make something consumable, which their fans could be extra excited about. Thus, Ruckus Sauce was born.

Eventually it became popular. People loved the idea of a badass, delicious hot sauce with attitude. This is the underlying theme behind Ruckus Foods. Much like Rock n Roll, we’re here to stir things up. To disrupt the norm. To bring the wonderful world of hot sauce beyond the confines of its current marketplace, and into the hands of food lovers across the WORLD (though we’re only available in Canada currently. Sorry eh?)
